Abi has more than 20 (twenty) years of lawyering experience. His practice covers a broad range of corporate and commercial areas, including mergers & acquisitions, restructuring, joint ventures, and foreign investments. He has been involved in numerous cross-border acquisitions and investments in companies from various industries including banking, financial services, manufacturing, information technology, e-commerce, and financial technology (Fintech). He also advises foreign investors on operations, corporate governance, and legal compliance, advising, whether at the outset of their investment or in connection with the compliant functioning of their ongoing businesses.

Abi is recognized for his in-depth knowledge of financial services and information technology sectors, having advised local and multinational financial institutions (multi-finance, insurance, and venture capital companies), tech players, and investors in investing and consolidating operations in Indonesia. He is familiar with the business dynamics in the financial sectors and technology area and is frequently involved in deals, advising multinational and local investors on operations and opportunities in Indonesia.

Abi is widely regarded and recognized for his Fintech experience and is heavily involved in providing advisories on investment, operation, and development of financial services technology in Indonesia (P2P Lending, Digital Financial Innovation, and Payments). He advises clients across the Fintech ecosystem from start-ups to large technology companies, tech investors, financial institutions as well as industry associations. Abi also counsels clients on Data Protection and Privacy, Blockchain technology, and cryptocurrency.

Abi is a Vice Chairman of the board of Financial Sectors Legal Consultant Association (HKHSK) and the Ethics Committee of The Indonesian Joint Funding Fintech Association (Asosiasi Fintech Pendanaan Bersama Indonesia – AFPI). He graduated from Parahyangan Catholic University (Sarjana Hukum degree) and holds dual master’s degrees in Law and Information Technology from Bond University, Queensland, Australia.

Abi has been acknowledged by Asia Business Law Journal in the A-List: Indonesia’s Top 100 Lawyers and has also been recognized as a leading corporate lawyer in Indonesia, among others by prominent legal publications such as Chambers Asia, AsiaLaw, and the Asian Legal Business.
